Bishop Robert (Bob) L. Jackson was born in Berkeley and attended Oakland public schools. After graduating from Castlemont High School in 1963, he served in the United States Air Force. On the GI bill, he attended and graduated from Cal State East Bay (Hayward) in 1973 earned and a Master’s Degree in Theology from the International Seminary.
In 1984, Jackson founded Acts Full Gospel Church of God in Christ in Oakland, California with only 13 members. The church has grown to over 7,500 members and over 30 active ministries.
Since his founding of Acts Full Gospel, he has dedicated his life to the community. Among his many achievements in service to Oakland include building affordable housing; founding and leading job training and life-skills programs for former inmates; and founding the Oakland African American Chamber of Commerce (OAACC).
Bringing his years of experience and commitment to East Oakland, he is running for Oakland’s District 7 seat in the November, 2020 election. Among his priorities for City Council are ensuring that District 7 receives its fair share of City resources; affordable housing, safe and clean streets, and jobs and economic development.
Bishop Bob Jackson is happily married to Lady Barbara Ann Jackson. Together they share seven children and eighteen loving grandchildren.
